EasyRedir supports enabling two-factor authentication on your account to increase your security.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
- Log in to the EasyRedir dashboard.
- Open your user menu in the top right corner of the page.
- Click or touch Account settings.
- Find the option for Two-factor authentication and click turn on.
- Ensure you have a TOTP application on your mobile phone such as Google Authenticator or Authy, or use a password manager such as 1Password or LastPass. If you do not have this already setup we recommend downloading the Google Authenticator app for either iOS or Android.
- Scan the QR code with your device to configure the one-time password.
- Copy the backup codes to a safe place. You will need one of these codes to login if you can not access your two-factor token for any reason (e.g. you lost your device, it has been reset, etc.). You can only use each backup code one time.
- Enter the current six-digit code shown on your device and click Enable two-factor authentication. You must enter a valid code to ensure your device is capable of generating correct tokens so that you are not locked out of your account.
Disable Two-Factor Authentication
- Log in to the EasyRedir dashboard.
- Open your user menu in the top right corner of the page.
- Click or touch Account settings.
- Find the option for Two-factor authentication and click turn off.
- Click Disable two-factor authentication.
If you have enabled and then disabled two-factor authentication in EasyRedir, and then subsequently wish to re-enable it, you will need to re-scan the QR code and save the new backup codes shown as they are different than the first time you set up two-factor authentication.
If you have any questions regarding two-factor authentication please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're happy to help.
